Summer Camps

Summer Camps
  • Introductory non-competitive day-camps conducted in multiple five-day sessions offering beginner youth a chance to try the sport of rowing in a fun, engaging, safe environment.
  • Training includes a complete overview of the sport of rowing; terminology, equipment handling, technique, and boat safety. Sessions use rowing machines to introduce the rowing stroke and eight-person or four-person rowing shells for on water skill application.
  • For ages 11 – 17 with no prior rowing experience.
  • Monday – Friday, 8:30 A.M.-11:30 A.M.
  • Each session is capped at 24 campers to ensure personal attention and skill development at the rower’s own pace, so space is limited. Walk-up registration is available if seats go unfilled.
  • Athletes will need to bring a learning attitude and wear athletic shorts (7” inseam recommended), t-shirts (nothing too baggy), and running shoes. It is also a great idea to bring sunscreen, towel, hat, water bottle, and snacks if needed.
  • Campers should watch the USRowing Safety Video prior to session.
