Congratulations, Coach Sarah!

In late July of this year, Coach Sarah Arms was recruited by the University of Tennessee to become a part of the Lady Volunteer Rowing Program staff as Assistant Coach responsible for the Novice Team and recruiting.

Coach Sarah has been an absolute marvel at making our club better and injecting a huge portion of professionalism and organization into our effort. We all have mixed feelings bout her leaving - we're very happy and excited for her in her new position, which we believe is a once in a lifetime opportunity for her. On the other hand, we're going to miss her wonderful personality and the very positive impact she has had on our effort to bring about a community rowing program for both masters and juniors. The training and experience that the Lady Vol Rowing Team instilled in Sarah has translated into a major benefit to ETRO and we will forever owe her a debt of gratitude. We know that Sarah will continue to be very successful and we are all hopeful that her experience with ETRO helped in some way to propel her to her new coaching position. Good luck, Coach!

Welcome to ETRO!

Thank you for your interest in East Tennessee Rowing Organization (ETRO). ETRO is a community rowing club focused on providing the best rowing experience in the scenic foothills of East Tennessee. The club rows out of the Smoky Mountain Rowing Center (SMRC) on Fort Loudon Lake (Tennessee River) in Louisville, TN. Just off exit 9 on Pellissippi Parkway (I-140), our boathouse is convenient to the greater Knoxville area including Maryville, Oak Ridge and Farragut.

ETRO offers recreational and competitive rowing programs for adults and youth. The club is dedicated to helping its participants get exactly what they want out of rowing - whether it be for exercise, fun, competition or meeting lifelong friends and teammates.

To help individuals determine if rowing is the right sport for them, the Smoky Mountain Rowing Center offers a unique and free "Discover Rowing" experience before joining ETRO. This two hour discovery class introduces the required skills for successful sweep rowing in eight and four-person boats, while providing a great workout and lots of fun!
