Thank you for your interest in East Tennessee Rowing! We are a community-based rowing club focused on providing recreational and competitive programs for adult and teens in the scenic foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. Training is conducted out of the Smoky Mountain Rowing Center (SMRC) in Louisville, on Ft. Loudoun Lake, and Watt Street CrossFit in Alcoa. Both are a convenient 20 minute (or less) drive from Downtown Knoxville, West Knox or South Knox County, and anywhere in Blount County.
Discover your new passion! The sensation of being able to propel a boat at speed through the water under one’s own power is exhilarating. Rowing is a sport that can be enjoyed by all. We offer introductory training programs for novice adult and teen rowers. It is our goal offer age specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging and developing each athlete to the best of their own abilities. No prior rowing experience is required to become involved and participate. Our programs offer easy and comprehensive access to the sport of rowing for all skills, ages, and physical abilities. So try it!
After the introductory courses or summer camps, we offer multiple training programs for competitive, developmental adults and teens. Join in with athletes with a variety of all ability levels all sharing a common passion for the sport of rowing. It requires teamwork and concentration so that one is almost oblivious to the physical exertion employed. Our coach lead programs offer consistent training to improve performance with an emphasis on core power, strength endurance, muscle memory, aerobic capacity, and flexibility all centered on the continual development of the athlete’s rowing skills.
