Thank you for your interest in East Tennessee Rowing, a community-based rowing club focused on providing recreational and competitive programs for adults and youth in the scenic foothills of the Smoky Mountains. ETR rows out of the Smoky Mountain Rowing Center (SMRC), on Ft. Loudoun Lake a convenient 20 minute (or less) drive from Downtown Knoxville, West Knox or South Knox County, and anywhere in Blount County.
Discover your new passion! East Tennessee Rowing offers many options to get you started, with NO prior rowing experience, either recreationally or competitively in the sport of rowing. Start with solid fundamentals focused on rowing technique, terminology, water safety, and equipment handling. Excuses, experience, or equipment are not required... so try it!
Once you complete the introductory courses, ETR offers recreational and competitive programs. Join in with athletes with a variety of all ability levels all sharing a common passion for the sport of rowing. Our coach lead programs offer consistent training to improve performance with an emphasis on core power, strength endurance, muscle memory, aerobic capacity, and flexibility all centered on the continual development of the athlete’s rowing skills.
