ETR rows out of the Smoky Mountain Rowing Center (SMRC), on Ft. Loudoun Lake a convenient 20 minute (or less) drive from Downtown Knoxville, West Knox or South Knox County, and anywhere in Blount County using Pellissippi Parkway or Alcoa Highway to Topside Road (exit 9) to 3452 Louisville Road, Louisville, TN.
Discover your new passion! East Tennessee Rowing offers many options to get you started either recreationaly or competitively in the sport of rowing. We want to make it easy and convenient to learn to row through year around evening Adult Rowing Lessons and Junior Rowing Lessons or our two-week Junior Summer Camps. NO prior rowing experience. Start with solid fundamentals with lessons conducted on the water and land. Focused on rowing terminology, water safety, equipment, and rowing technique. After completion of this course, athletes may choose to join our Adult or Junior Recreational or Competitive programs.
Once you complete the introductory courses, ETR offers adult and junior recreational programs as well as a junior competitive program. These programs are made up athletes of all ability levels with a common passion for sport of rowing. Our goal is to give all athletes opportunities to physically mature, gain coordination, power application, and develop rowing specific skills. Through coach lead programs offer training to improve performance with an emphasis on core power, strength endurance, muscle memory, aerobic capacity, and flexibility all centered on the continual development of the athlete’s rowing skills.
